Actually, they reported earnings in line with what they guided. They were not in line with Wall Street estimates, which has always been ridiculously bad when it comes to Apple. Of course, they used to be far too low — and independent analysts would destroy the professionals in this regard — so Apple stopped “sandbagging” their projections. This is the reward. Don’t be shocked if we see a return to sandbagging.
