Interesting point re: the desire to talk to computers at the same time we desire to talk less to humans (over the phone, etc). I think it all boils down to trying to do things as efficiently as possible. It used to be “getting someone on the phone” was the best method, but these days, that person on the phone isn’t as well prepped to do something as you yourself probably could with the right tool. Plus, when using text to interface with someone, you can do other things in the meantime…
