Sure, but a lot of this is the beauty of fandom (as I know I don’t have to explain to you!) — people completely unaffiliated care so deeply about something to the point of elevating it beyond what was intended. A life of its own, as it were.

I understand the appreciation for an initial vision, of course. Without vision, any art would be mundane and meaningless. At the same time, obviously most folks would kill to have such passion surrounding something they’re affiliated with. And I have to believe Rian Johnson fully understands this, and in a way appreciates it, some light criticism aside.
