Which is what I’m getting at in paragraph three. But it’s still interesting that you pay for something (a CD/cassette tape/etc) but then have to pay for it again (MP3/streaming/etc) to keep enjoying it in a more modern world.

I do like the notion of paying for an experience versus a tangible good, and maybe that’s how the music industry should frame it. Kind of like how when you pay to go to a movie, all you’re left with is the experience…
